      262-HELP – a program of CarePlus – is Bergen County’s Designated Psychiatric
      Emergency Screening Program.
      The purpose of 262-HELP is to provide emergency mental health services to residents of Bergen County.Call 201-262-HELP (4357) when you or a loved one are experiencing a mental health crisis. There is a fee for all evaluations, however, it is often covered by health insurance. No individual will ever be denied services due to an inability to pay.

      Through the New Jersey Children’s System of Care, PerformCare connects young people and their families statewide to the care they need to be well. If your situation is not immediately life-threatening, contact PerformCare at 1-877-652-7624 and follow the menu prompts provided for an urgent situation. We will ask you a series of questions to determine how we can help. If we find that your child should be evaluated for hospitalization, we will refer you to a local screening center.
