    • CHIP Wellness/Weight Loss Challenge 2019

      This is the 7th year of the CHIP Wellness/Weight Loss/Walking Challenges. The goal of the Challenge is to improve healthy eating and increase physical activity for people who live, work and attend school in Bergen County. Free and reduced-cost fitness, nutrition, and wellness programs and classes will be offered. Find your towns challenge below!

      Fair Lawn & Ridgewood

      Weight Loss Challenge

      Kickoff: Thursday, March 21 (snow date March 26) @ 5:30pm

      Join us for our 6th Annual Fair Lawn & Ridgewood Weight-Loss

      and Wellness Challenge! 

       

      The Mayors Wellness Campaign, Fair Lawn and Ridgewood Health Departments, The Fitness Academy, ShopRite of Fair Lawn, RaceFaster, Health Barn USA and The Valley Hospital are back at it! We want to continue to make our towns the healthiest they can be!

       

      The program is free and open to all Fair Lawn and Ridgewood residents.

       

      Registration is required • Deadline is Monday, March 18.

      Teaneck's Community

      Weight-Loss Challenge

      KICK-OFF EVENT: Monday, March 18th • 7:00 — 8:30 pm

      Holy Name Medical Center • 718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ

       

      Join your neighbors as we collectively lose weight to make Teaneck a healthier community. Whether you have a lot to lose or just want to shed a few pounds, here is your chance to start! Sponsored by Holy Name Medical Center, the Teaneck Health Department, the Department of Recreation and Glenpointe Spa and Fitness, the Weight Loss Challenge will run from mid-March to mid-May.

      The Mayors Wellness Campaign, the Oradell Board of Health, HNH Fitness and Holy Name Medical Center are putting Oradell residents & borough employees to the challenge yet again. Come to the kick-off event on Monday, March 18th and meet the team, participate in pre-challenge weigh-ins, and learn how to be successful in the challenge!

      Paramus Weight-Loss Challenge

      Join us for the 7th annual Paramus Weight-Loss Challenge! The Mayors Wellness Campaign, The Paramus Board of Health, Gold’s Gym of Paramus, ShopRite of Paramus and The Valley Hospital want to help you continue making healthy choices for life. Let’s maintain Paramus’ healthy town reputation with the 7th annual Challenge.

       

      The program is free, fun and open to all Paramus residents and employees.

      Franklin Lakes Living Healthy Challenge

      Phase 1 - March 4 to April 14, 2019 • Phase 2 - April 15 to May 28, 2019

      The first 6 weeks of the challenge will focus on our mindset, while the second 6 weeks will focus on our bodies being more active through strength-training, cardio, and conditioning.

       

      We believe a Healthy Mind + Healthy Body = Healthy Life

      Sponsored by the CHIP's Nutrition and Physical Activity Task Force

       

      The Challenge is sponsored by the Community Health Improvement Partnership’s Nutrition and Physical Activity Task Force and local health officers.

       

      The Challenges align with the Mayors Wellness Campaigns and offer free and reduced-cost fitness and wellness education opportunities. The Challenge varies from town to town with some offering weekly weigh-ins and others offering walking programs.

       

      The programs are supported through partnerships of some local health departments, The Valley Hospital, Holy Name Medical Center, town councils, fitness centers, supermarkets, YMCAs, community organizations and other local businesses and will run for 8-12 weeks.
