Mental Health Task ForceThe Mental Task Force is working to promote mental health in the community. The objectives are to take the stigma out of mental illness and make mental health resources available to all people in Bergen County. The task force partners with schools, community colleges and universities, and organizations to co-sponsor educational conferences on mental health. The members are working with the Bergen County School Superintendents' Office to train and identify health liaisons in the different school districts. The task force was honored in 2008 with an award from the State for the Stamp Out Stigma event co-sponsored by Bergen Community College and the task force achievements were highlighted at the Annual Public Health Associations Collaborative Effort (PHACE) State conference.
